The Salamander Resort & Spa has been a spot my wife and I have visited together during the Hunt Country Stable Tour each Memorial Day weekend, and I've attended Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce meetings there, including their leadership series luncheon that featured Sheila Johnson.

While we've enjoyed the restaurants and bar, never before have we stayed as overnight guests until these past two days as we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with a staycation at the Salamander.

Wow! What an amazing and relaxing experience. That's the way to staycation! We'll be looking for deals to come back again over the winter.

I captured this pair of sculpted horses on one of our long afternoon walks. They fit perfectly with the horses and other equestrian art that decorates the resort.
